On January 24, the Japanese Football Association officially announced that a security guard in the hotel where the Chinese team was staying had tested positive for the new crown. However, the national football team is not a close contact person, so the game arrangement has not changed, and the game between the Japanese team and the Chinese team is still going on on January 27.
The Japan Football Association wrote on its official website:
On January 24 (Monday), at the hotel where the Chinese national team was staying, a head of security was tested positive for the new coronavirus. The infected person tested negative before starting work on Wednesday, January 19, Friday, January 21 and Sunday, January 23, but was found to be positive in tests conducted today. At present, the infected person has left the company and is responding according to the instructions of the health center.
But at the same time, the Japanese Football Association officially stated that the staff, athletes and other related personnel of the Chinese national team are not close contacts of the relevant personnel. There is no change in the activities of the Chinese national team for the game on Thursday 27 January.
The JFA will continue to prioritize the safety and health of the concerned parties, and will continue to work hard to prevent the spread of infection and welfare, as well as health centers, in accordance with the policies of the Japan Sports Agency, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and other relevant authorities.
