CONEGLIANO. Take a group of young people who share a passion for athletics, close them in a facility with the track and spaces for all specialties and have them organize a sporting event. This is it Junior Meeting of Athletics Silca Conegliano which renews for the 21st edition the appointment of 25 April at municipal stadium Narciso Soldan.

In just under two weeks the traditional event returns that not only gives prestige to local sport but also to Treviso and Veneto because the boys and girls of the Silca Athletics youth sector will take care of every single detail. of their peers between sociality and inclusiveness.

The goal of the initiative, in fact, is to be a springboard for the promises of athletics and to give the opportunity to grow at 360 °, possibly make mistakes, learn what it means to have responsibility and understand what it means to work in a group. The concept behind the Junior Meeting is very simple: leave total space for young people to organize the event.

Elected members of organizing committee, via the division of tasks according to the availability and abilities of each one. Once the roles have been defined, the young Silca Athletics will meet from the morning of Monday 25 April at the Narciso Soldan municipal stadium to prepare everything, from the preparation of the equipment to the placement of the banners, and be ready by 2.30 pm.

First, however, space for a great moment of conviviality with the pasta party which, given the loosening of the anti-covid rules, will repeat itself again. This will be the first goal to be achieved on April 25th, that of sociality which is found after two years of pandemic, as well as that of maximum inclusiveness.

In fact, at the start of the Junior Meeting they will perform 43 primary school children with recreational and motor activities which, by not participating in the competition, will lead the way in the event.

Most of the over 50 athletes from the youth sector of Athletics Silca he will not take part in competitions, putting aside his passion to make himself available to others and not to let sportsmen lack for anything.

These are the cases, for example, of Eva Casagrande and Jacopo Da Rerespectively chairman and vice-chairman of the organizing committee, both aged 18who on Monday 25 April will give up the competitive spirit of middle distance to better coordinate the organization.

The board members and managers of Atletica Silca will try to be as invisible as possible, starting from president Francesco Piccinwho will take their places in the stands of the Soldan stadium and will never cross the fence that separates them from the field.

Bleachers that will finally be able to return to welcome the public as wellmade up of parents or simple fans, who will not miss an opportunity to give moral support and cheer on the children who will get involved in organizing the event.

The Junior Meeting, in addition to the Thursani, gives space to the territory and to the various public and entrepreneurial realities that constitute its foundations and wealth. Here, in addition to the organization of Athletics Silca, there is the patronage of the Municipality of Conegliano and the Province of Treviso, the support of the Fidal Veneto Regional Committee and the partnership of Silca, Borgoluce, Banca Prealpi, Elmec Impianti Elettrici, Karhu, Reale Mutua, De Coppi Mechanical Machining, Gammasport and San Benedetto. There is also the collaboration of Silca Ultralite Vittorio Veneto and the Conegliano Red Cross.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Online registration until the 21st, competitions on the 25th. Opening with elementary school children

The 21st edition of the Conegliano Junior Meeting is therefore an open track and regional level event any athlete is free to register.

The interested participants belong to the cadets, students, juniors, promises, seniors and boys categories and the competitions will be valid as a UsAcli regional championship (Unione Sportiva Christian Workers Italians Association) for the male and female youth categories.

Registrations can be made online and close on Thursday 21 April at 2.00 pm For April 25th, however, the meeting is set for 2.30 pm, the event will be open by primary school children who will do a ludic-motor demonstration and then there will be the classic athletics competitions, from jumping to long to 3000 meters.

Timekeeping it will be electronic with photofinish while each athlete can participate in a single race during the event. In javelin competition the athletes will use the specific tools of their category and the best 8 students and the best 8 juniors will be admitted to the final.

For the throwing competitions it is preferable that the athletes are in possession of their own personal equipment; if an athlete is not in possession of his equipment, only the one made available will be used.

Finally, some anti-Covid rules remain in force, in addition to the FIDAL rules in force: technicians and managers in possession of the basic Green pass and with the obligation to use the mask can access the field while athletes will not be able to take advantage of the locker rooms.

This year’s goal is to confirm the more than 20 years of satisfaction given by the Junior Meeting.

In short, the social aspects will be the real protagonists of the Junior Meeting.

Now that the pandemic appears to be behind us and we are seeing the restart, we will also return to do the pasta party as we used to, like a big family. Elected by her teammates and with 8 years of participation in the organization of the Junior Meeting, Casagrande now has the great opportunity to coordinate the event from the top.

«The great thing is that you get in touch with the administrative and responsibility part of organizing the races, understanding that what it means to be on the other side in a sporting event. It’s a really fun time because you are in a group: this year I feel more responsible and it will be a way to have more fun ».

Coordinating over 50 athletes who will take care of everything is not easy: “Connecting everyone is the hardest part – Casagrande continues – There are enough boys and it is difficult to understand which is the best role to be assigned and which are the availability of all, as well as coordinating athletes of different ages. I hope that everyone completes their task to create a worthy event. Already being at this point in the organization is a reason for satisfaction and I am happy with the high availability found by my teammates: each edition was always well organized and I hope that this year too we can repeat it and that all the athletes appreciate it. The Junior Meeting makes us feel united, not only for the passion we share but also because it is nice to give each other a hand “.
