CAGLIARI. Axel Mazella consolidates his leadership in the Sardinia Grand Slam, the third stage of the Ika KiteFoil World Series, which today celebrates the grand finale at the legendary VI Fermata del Poetto. The French athlete has won two of the four races held in the waters of the Golfo degli Angeli. «It was an excellent day – said Mazella -, I am very tired after 14 races in three days. The wind was always changing direction, the races were all different from each other. Now I remain focused to keep the record until the end ».

Behind the European champion, the British Connor Bainbridge, who recovered by climbing back to second place, while the other Frenchman Theo De Ramecourt, who won the other two races of the day, took over the third place. Tenth overall the Italian champion Lorenzo Boschetti ahead of Mario Calbucci. The very young Daniele Pischedda from Cagliari, 16, who occupies the 36th position in the general classification, is gaining experience.

In the women’s ranking the French Lauriane Nolot is in command, overtaking her compatriot Poema Newland. Third the other transalpine Jessie Kampman, 5th Tiana Laporte, standard bearer of the Windsurfing Club Cagliari.
