In the sights of the yellow and blue, there is also the Coppa Lombardia, a competition in which Casteggio will face the Milanese of the Ark away, in the round of 16 in a straight match, on 8 December. «I would say that we are beyond the rosiest expectations – argues the Casteggio technician, Matteo Landini – on paper we were convinced that we had set up an excellent squad, but the fact that it is almost entirely renewed should not be overlooked. There was a lot of chatter around the Casteggio, but we only thought about working and responding on the pitch, where so far they have combined excellent performances with results, but we know that the road is long ».

Landini highlights the constant support of the company, which has created the conditions to be able to experience a high-level season: “The arrival of two managers like Palladini and Montagna, the passion of our president Tinozzi and of all the people who dedicate themselves to life of the company, allows us to work in ideal conditions. I also want to note the contribution of my precious collaborator Gigi Cavallini. Casteggio is a historic square of our football, and there is a great desire to win. I am very pleased to underline the presence of an always warm public at the field, with many children from the youth sector who come to support the boys of the first team ». The Casteggiano coach is convinced that the team can grow further: «I think we have ample room for improvement. At the beginning of the season, for example, we conceded a few goals too many, now we are more solid, as can be seen from the only goal collected in the last five games. I often hear the other coaches complain about the absences, we too have had several defections, but we have never announced them. I have a group of 22 young people, and everyone is making their contribution ».

Within a close-knit orchestra, two first violins emerge such as Mario Rebecchi and Pasquale Cantiello, both of whom came from Varzi, the club of Excellence: “They got into the part very well, Mario is our technical leader for class and experience and helps us so much even in the locker room, Pasquale has a temperament and a desire to win that draws everyone along ».
