The Section of the Sporting Court of Appeal chaired by Carmine Volpe rejected Lazio’s complaint against the two-match suspension inflicted on Maurizio Sarri after his expulsion at Milan-Lazio on 12 September. The red card had arrived at the final whistle of the San Siro match due to the Lazio coach’s reaction to the Rossoneri Saelemaekers.

In the device of the sentence it was explained that one day referred to the threatening behavior of the coach towards the Milan player and the other to the blasphemous expressions used by Sarri in the changing room tunnel. The reasons for the provision were challenged by the Lazio coach on the eve of the Europa League match with Galatasaray, threatening to sue the referee Chiffi. Sarri will serve the second day of disqualification on Thursday in Turin and then return to the bench on Sunday in the derby.
