The Biancocelesti could have confirmed the Cape Verdean by paying Sporting about 6 million, but they expired the right of redemption to negotiate on the price

Hypothesis not to be discarded yet. Lazio is considering the possibility of taking Francesco Caputo (35 years old in August) from Sampdoria to use him as a deputy building. The Biancoceleste company had already evaluated the profile in recent weeks, then putting the negotiation on pause to evaluate another one: the redemption of Cabral, however, is not at all obvious, which is why Lazio also returns to evaluate other tracks.

The situation

The biancocelesti could have confirmed Cabral by paying Sporting Lisbon about 6 million, but they expired the right of redemption (set for the end of May) to negotiate on the price (they would not want to spend more than 4 or 5 million) and possibly also the methods (Lotito and Tare would like another year of loan). In Lisbon they also evaluate the proposals coming from the Premier League and the Portuguese league before making a decision. Lazio is therefore obliged to keep an alternative ready and could be able to close for Caputo for a lower figure than that planned for Cabral. In a summer in which there are so many boxes to fill in the squad, every saving is a gain. This is why the Caputo-Lazio hypothesis is not yet to be discarded.
