Palermo, 21 October 2021 – Storm over the mayor of Palermo Leoluca Orlando. The first citizen of the Sicilian capital would be investigated together with 23 former councilors, managers and municipal area heads for false in municipal budgets. The news was spread by the sites The Republic Palermo e Live Sicilia which report how all have been notified of a notice of conclusion of the investigation.
The Public Prosecutor of Palermo challenges Orlando and the other 23 with the accusation “false material committed by a public official in a public deed”. The investigations of the economic and financial police unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Palermo, would have ascertained numerous irregularities in the financial statements of four years, from 2016 to 2019.
