BELLUNO
His saves weren’t enough to avoid defeat. And above all, he has been waiting since the beginning of the season to close a game unbeaten, because he goes on with an average of two goals conceded every weekend. So you can’t go far, anyone would understand. In any case, Lorenzo Lombardi has perhaps had the best day since defending the goal of the Belluno Dolomites. He arrived at the beginning of September thanks to the defection of the Manzanese – like De Leo – and immediately the coach Lauria entrusted him with the starting gloves, at the suggestion of the goalkeeper coach Lorenzo Cima. However, he already knew the D, considering the appearances in the last tournament in defense of the Chions goal.
Yesterday he blocked that ball hit by Giacomazzi, even though he had most likely entered the net, then in the second half he stopped Giusti’s penalty, even allowing himself the luxury of blocking the ball on the ground. Among other things, his is a specialty: in June, again with the Chions, he stopped Benedetti from eleven meters. A day to remember, if only he had had the comfort of the points in the standings: «Look, from a personal point of view there is satisfaction, but overall I would have been happier if we had obtained a positive result. The single performance takes a back seat to the team ».
Lombardi then analyzes the negative result: «Too bad because we did our best, in my opinion. We had worked well this week. Sorry that the episodes went wrong ».
Even if from the outside the impression was more of a team collapsing in confidence during the second half, especially after having risked going under on the penalty missed by Campodarsego. «Maybe on the contrary, the Paduans saw themselves close to the advantage and this gave them strength and confidence. Evidently they were better than us. What are we missing? I do not know. The group is good and we all do our utmost, and this, in any case, is a starting point ».
