Lutsenko wins the Serenissima Gravel ahead of Minali and Haas

Last Monday he won the Agostoni cup beating Matteo Trentin in a sprint. Today the Kazakh Alexey Lutsenko did an encore in the Serenissima Gravel, the first professional race for gravel bikes. The 29-year-old from Astana, on the 132-kilometer track (from Lido di Jesolo to Piazzolla sul Brenta), 110 of which on dirt, preceded our Riccardo Minali (Intermarché) by 42 seconds who won the sprint for second place ahead of Nathan Haas (Cofidis). The winner was the protagonist of a solitary escape that began at Treviso. Kilometer after kilometer he managed to consolidate a lead of 1’48 ‘minutes from the group which he maintained until the entrance to the final circuit consisting of three laps of 11 km. The gap, which dropped to about 50 seconds in the last two circuits of the race, was nevertheless managed very well by Lutsenko, who after the finish lifted the bike to the sky.
