Madrid Open tennis, Murray beats Shapovalov and flies to the second round against Djokovic

Andy Murray flies to the second round of the Madrid Open after defeating Canadian Denis Shapovalov in three sets. Murray overwhelmed world number 14 6-1 3-6 6-2 in two hours and nine minutes to advance to the key match of the round of 16 against old opponent and world number one Novak Djokovic.

Murray hasn’t played against Djokovic since the Qatar Open in January 2017, when he was the British number one ATP. Djokovic has just returned from the match against Frenchman Gael Monfils, who won clearly 6-3 6-2.
