After the success of Godiasco, the supergentleman-B Ettore Manenti (from Brescia of Team Bianchi, affiliated to the Acsi Pavia committee) achieves his 14th overall victory of the season on the all-flat circuit of Garlasco, a terrain certainly more congenial to him as a pure sprinter. Manenti was once again the promoter of the final selection and then of an imperious attack that lined up the platoon of pursuers. Placements of honor for Germano Gaggioli (Fornasari Auto) and for Eliseo Tessan del Sant’Angelo.
Pavesi in the limelight among the super B: second place for Pietro Villa (Team Brocchetta Pavia), third for Virginio Cristiani (Bevl Varzi), sixth for Oliviero Bocaccia (Cycling Team Garlasco). Among the women yet another triumph for Simona Stan del Sant’Angelo and third, on the podium, Rosella Bazzarello of Team Media Bike Sannazzaro. Among the youth forces (19-39 years of age) domination of the Piedmontese Franco Carrozzino, senior-B of the Bike Pancalieri; then the rankings of the category with the third place of the Italian champion Stefano Gherardi of the Lnc among the veterans-A); then fifth place for the contemporary Luca Dalla Pietà del Varzi; among the veterans-B another podium for the third place of the Oltrepadano Giorgio Rapaccioli of Team Stocchetti.
Clear dominance of the Modenese Bike Soliera team which scored a splendid double among the gentlemen: first Gabriele Rivara and second Cristian Vadalà, both gentleman-A. Only one pavese in light: Maurizio Falzoni of Cycling Team Garlasco, third in the gentleman-B category. The Garlasco race, 60 kilometers of flat track under a scorching sun, saw 130 riders at the start. –
