Milan: Stefano Pioli, the holidays of the Italian champion coach

The statisticians are already at work: are there more bathing in the sea or bathing in crowds? Today Pioli will return from the “tour” in Sicily which occupied the first part of his holidays. A stop in Parma, in his hometown where he returns as soon as he can even during the season with Milan, then another move: the Rossoneri coach will make a permanent base in Forte dei Marmi, in Versilia, and will spend most of the next few days there. With some other variations on the theme, such as a trip to the Balearics, Spain, next weekend, and then some other stops around Italy.

A scudetto changes your life and even your habits, as the Parmesan coach had the opportunity to test during his Sicilian holidays. “The chorus of the fans is an incredible emotion, I have never been an acclaimed coach or in the spotlight”, said Pioli on May 15, after beating Atalanta in the last championship match at San Siro, before the final triumph of Reggio Emilia. Here, acclaimed, highly acclaimed, now Pioli is in every corner of Italy. To relax after the success achieved with Ibra and his companions, the former Normal One chose eastern Sicily, visited with his wife Barbara and a small group of friends including Giacomo Murelli, his historical deputy. Taormina, Ragusa, Scicli, Modica, Pozzallo, Noto, Pachino, Marzamemi, Portopalo di Capo Passero: the tour was full of stages, between the beauties of the Baroque and the wild nature of the beaches between the Ionian and Mediterranean coasts. The scheme, this time, was applied by the fans: affectionately very high pressing (they say that one evening the intervention of the police was needed to allow Pioli to leave a restaurant) and construction from below, because the “hugs” some Rossoneri fans started in the morning on the beach and ended at dinner time. Pioli reciprocated with courtesy and availability, stopping to take photos as after a ride on the tourist train in Noto: the Milan fans waited for him in the square where the train ended the race, and they celebrated him by singing for him.

Ask him for selfies and autographs, but not to disconnect with Milan, because this is the only thing that Pioli never gives up, not even under an umbrella. The contact with the director Maldini and the director Massara has remained constant even in these days: together, the coach and managers discuss and plan the market for the Devil to come.
