Minigolf, Silver Novi at the Italian team championship: the fourth consecutive podium

by admin

Another Italian team championship, another podium for the Minigolf Club of Novi Ligure: the sixth in seven years, the fourth in a row. Since 2014, apart from the forced break in 2020 due to Covid, only in 2016 the Novese club had not managed to get on the podium of the highest national team competition.

In total four silver and two bronze medals. The top step is still missing, a difficult step at the moment to achieve as the main opponents of the Novese clubs, the Lombards of the Vergiate club, are currently proving even superior, going to win the sixteenth championship in their history.

On the field of Arizzano (Verbania) on the distance of two days of competition, the Novese club whose team was made up of Andrea Montomoli, Daniele Diotti, Omar Sessa, Mattia Rossi, Emanuele Prestinari, Paolo Porta and Paolo Belli started in the first path, drawing the favorites of the Vergiate club but subsequently could not help but settle in second place behind the very favorite Lombard team, managing with ease the second place and maintaining a safety advantage over the South Tyrolean team of Algund, reigning champion, who closed the test in third place .

In terms of individual performances, the usual Paolo Porta stands out, obtaining the second set with 169 strokes on 8 courses, Emanuele Prestinari, fourth with 170 strokes, and worthy of mention is also Omar Sessa, author of one of the best performances in his career with the seventh score individual (172 shots).
