A beautiful evening in the parlor, in front of the Town Hall, dedicated to Mogliano Rugby 1969, chaired by Massimiliano Piccin, whose formations were presented yesterday in the central square of the city, all his teams taking turns parading on the stage announced by Andrea Vidotti, where the authorities were already there, starting with the mayor Davide Bortolato and the sports councilor Franco Maria Pavan, a former player of those colors. Naturally, the administration had sponsored the event, which was attended by a large audience: families above all, fans, onlookers. And many blue flags.

First applause for the legendary 2013 championship, then the thoughts of the mayor went to Maurizio Piccin, who passed away in June: «Piccin has carried on the values ​​of this sport: loyalty, responsibility, friendship, commitment, courage. In Mogliano rugby is truly an institution and a school of life “, said Bortolato,” above all because there is also a commitment to social initiatives. Last year, moreover, a book was released that tells his story. And it’s a club that exports the name of the country all over Italy ».

Pavan, who confessed, as a former athlete of these colors, somewhat excited, remembered Piccin with another term: support. “Of course, support is one of the main aspects of this sport, to support and help each other”.

Sandro Trevisan, head of the Regional Committee, was also present: «Finally the activity has restarted, even if the fields were open even during the pandemic. And Mogliano nel Veneto is certainly an excellence. Naturally waiting for the blue commitments in Treviso and Padua ».

So it was the teams’ turn. The little ones started to go on stage, those of the Under 5 and 7, with coaches Tiveron and Torcelan, the Under 9 (Zanatta, Bandiera and Casarin), the Under 11 (Salvalajo and De Lazzari), the Under 13 (Longo , D’Onofrio and Fiorini), the Under 15 (Bresolin, Zanon and Lorenzon), the Under 17 (Gigliodoro and Candiago), the Under 19 (Zappalorto and Branni), then the amateurs of the Tribe (Rossi and Marangon), the Cadets (Filippucci), the Under … 100, that is the veterans and finally the athletes of the first team, trained by Salvatore Costanzo with assistant Stefan Basson. “I remember the presentation of 2019, we were much fewer”, stressed Costanzo, fresh from the first victory in the championship, Saturday in Rome, «they were two years of suffering, I too remember with emotion President Piccin and I hope to see you all at Quaggia. To the younger kids I say that we will do everything to make you proud by putting our maximum effort into it. We have this shirt in common, we are a big family ».
