Pallacanestro Montalto Dora, after renouncing the championship, is already thinking about next season. The team will not play the Serie D championship, which this year has become optional, giving up the tournament proposed by the Piedmontese regional committee.
The management staff, after a careful evaluation, found themselves in disagreement with the dispute of a “repairing” championship based on a questionable protocol and done without thinking of the great economic difficulties faced by minor sports clubs. The economic crisis has reduced to a minimum, the small sponsors and the respect of the protocols implies costs and organization that cannot be prosecuted: “Unlike the Letter 22 – explains the president Carmine Di Martino – we did not want to register for the possible championships of the 3 against 3. We have suspended any type of sporting activity, including training: if you do not participate in a championship you cannot train. With this decision – continues the President – we want to protect the health and safety of our athletes and managers also given the current pandemic situation which, to date, being in the red zone, does not allow us any possible move. As soon as we will be allowed we will try to resume our sporting activity always in compliance with the decrees that will be issued. Now the gaze is turned to the future, we already have some ideas, we have not yet managed to share it all together for the usual reasons related to the red zone that prevent us from meeting. Surely when it will be granted we will work concretely to start again ». –
