Top scorer of group A of women’s Serie C with eight centers of the season, in as many championship days, the Independiente striker Arianna Montecucco, 26, surveyor from Serravalle Scrivia, in the province of Alessandria, tells about her first year under the club of president Roberto Tridello: “In the past I played in Serie A, with the Chievo Verona shirt and in Serie B with Alessandria, Alba, Novi Ligure and Ravenna, while this year with great pleasure I am in Independiente Ivrea – says Montecucco – a company that has given me 100% confidence and support, after a year and a half stopped in the pits due to injury. This summer I had offers, but I chose to come to Independiente Ivrea because I was convinced above all by two players who were already my teammates both at the time of Novi Ligure and Alba, like Ambrosi and Lavarone – says Montecucco – I am very happy to be top scorer in the group with eight goals scored respectively in Pistoiese on Sunday (hat-trick), Perugia and double goals against Ternana and Caprera, thanks to the great teamwork that we all do together during the match. We are aware of our strength, at the moment we are fourth in the standings with sixteen points, less than four points from the top, occupied by Pinerolo ».

Montecucco then talks about the team’s objectives and analyzes the next matches: “Our primary objective is always a peaceful salvation, while as regards the next matches we will have a really very demanding triptych, such as Azalee Solbiatese, Pavia Academy and Spezia, three very difficult that we will have to take with the springs – explains Montecucco – and play with the utmost concentration and intensity, as coach Pairotto always asks us both in training and at the match on Sunday ».

Montecucco reveals: “Two years ago, also following muscle injuries, as well as the Covid-19 situation, I also thought about retiring from football, because it no longer gave me satisfaction, but then I found the Independiente who believed in me and I tried to repay their trust by giving my best and doing what I like best: helping the team with goals, but also making myself available when there is, for example, to go back to give support to the other departments. I am inspired a little by Del Piero, even if the passion for football comes from my grandfather Luigi, a great Napoli fan, who made me grow up on bread and Maradona – explains Montecucco -. My personal goal was to score ten goals this season, but what matters is that Independiente can be on the left side of the table ». –
