MotoGp, Valentino Rossi lands with the VR46 team

by admin

Valentino Rossi lands in MotoGP and does it as the owner of a team. VR46, the Doctor’s company, has reached an agreement with Tanal Entertainmente Sport & Media, the holding company of the Saudi royal family, to run in the premier class from 2022 to 2026. The main sponsor of the operation will be Saudi Aramco, a hydrocarbon company . VR46 had already set foot in MotoGP this year, sponsoring Luca Marini’s Ducati (Rossi’s brother) in the Esponsorama team, but from next year it will have its own team, with two bikes and as many riders.

Now that the project is official, we will have to wait a few weeks to understand which manufacturer the VR46 will join. One possibility is to inherit the Ducatis that will leave Esponsorama free, otherwise there would be the possibility of having the Aprilia, while it seems more difficult to race with Suzuki, which has not yet decided its plans for a possible satellite team.

However, the collaboration between Valentino and Saudi Arabia will not be limited only to racing. A communication strategy will be aimed at promoting the programs of the Saudi Vision 2030 project, aimed at designing a green future for the Emirate. Furthermore, there is also the joint development of a four-wheel drive off-road vehicle with hybrid, electric and thermal propulsion.

The VR46, in addition to engaging in MotoGP, also confirmed its intention to continue its participation in the Moto2 world championship.
