Murder Ardea, carried out in the investigation: the son of the 68-year-old who died at home was arrested

Ardea (Rome), 2 October 2021 – The turning point has come in the case of Graziella Bartolotta, the 68-year-old found dead last Thursday in her apartment in Ardea. The woman would be killed with three very violent blows to the head, inflicted with a blunt force. And this afternoon Fabrizio Rocchi – the woman’s eldest son – was arrested on charges of aggravated murder. He is the only one under investigation for the crime committed in Ardea: according to the images of the video surveillance cameras of the house, in fact, the young man would have been the last person to see his mother before the discovery of the body, which took place on the afternoon of 28 September. The man will be questioned in the next few hours.

Rocchi, after the arrest carried out by the carabinieri at the behest of the investigating judge of Velletri, he was first accompanied to the military barracks in Anzio, and after the ritual notifications and photo-signaling operations, he was taken to the Velletri prison.

The arrest was triggered in the aftermath of the autopsy results, the examination found that the 68-year-old was killed three very violent blows inflicted with a blunt instrument at head height. The serious evidence of guilt collected by the police investigators led the prosecutor to ask for and obtain the arrest of the victim’s son. Tracked down in the afternoon at his home in Ardea, Rocchi was taken to the Velletri prison pending the interrogation of guarantee before the investigating judge expected in the next few days.

The finding of the body

The pensioner was found in the bathroom on the afternoon of September 28, lying on the ground in a pool of blood and with a deep wound to the head, in her home in via del Pettirosso. It was there who had discovered the body cleaning lady, who in front of the macabre discovery started screaming, thus alerting the neighbors. The Prosecutor of Velletri, which opened a murder case, has included the name of the son among the suspects.

The young man, who lives in another apartment in the same house, he would have assumed an accidental fall of his mother who, when found, had a deep head wound. The widowed woman lived alone and apparently did not walk well. For this she availed herself of the collaboration of a maid who usually went to help her. The house was immediately seized, there was no break-in.
