The goalkeeper was relegated with Granada and therefore the release clause was halved. De Laurentiis’ club is aiming for a loan with redemption
You can be protagonists even if your team ends up relegating and then – even – “taking advantage” of the situation. Luis Maximiano, the 23-year-old Portuguese goalkeeper who put together 35 appearances in the last Liga, has attracted many European clubs also by virtue of the fact that Granada has dropped in the category. Among the teams that have shown interest – for some time now – there is Napoli, but now ready to sink the blow precisely because Maximiano’s release clause has been halved by virtue of the fact that Granada will play in the Segunda Division next year. Therefore, to take him away, “only” 12.5 million are needed: an affordable figure for the Azzurri who, however, after having already invested 35 million in Olivera, Kvaratskhelia and the ransom of Anguissa, are awaiting sales to finance the market.
Everything, of course, revolves around Koulibaly and the “round of defenders” in which the Senegalese appetite for Chelsea, Barcelona, Bayern and Juventus could enter. Waiting for official offers for “future captain”, however, Napoli are trying to try Granada with a more convenient formula for the blue club: loan with right or obligation of redemption (about ten million euros) to take Maximiano immediately.
The Portuguese would thus become the alternative to Meret, who could sign the contract renewal until 2027 as soon as Ospina marries elsewhere (tomorrow is officially his last day as a Napoli player and the Colombian could accept the Al-Nassr court. ). Spalletti with Maximiano would have the chance to count on two young and capable goalkeepers while if Giuntoli were to return to Sirigu or Tatarusanu there would be more defined hierarchies with a “twelfth” of international experience.
