STRAMBINO

The only two Canavese teams present at the national final of the autumn championship of Open Darts (electronic darts) which took place from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th September in Cividale del Friuli (Udine) did not go far. The Ninos’ Serie A sangiustese formation, led by Gabriele Lai and that of the Corsairs led by Giovanni Vecchiato of the Sporting club Chivasso have already left in the first and second round respectively. 105 teams from twelve Italian regions were present at the event. Best placings for Piedmont for the Blue Phaser dart Team of Nichelino (ninth) and Sin igual le locuste di Torino (tenth). The Piedmontese Open Darts vice president, Barbara Pattaro di Strambino explains: “Only the teams that finished their championship on Wednesday 4 August, winning it, having the right to do so, took part in this national phase, and it was a real pity that the teams canavesane have gone out immediately. The new regional championship has started a week ago – says Pattaro – with a total of 53 teams that will compete for the title and qualification for the new national phase, which will be held in January, again in Arezzo. Covid-19 permitting, we hope to be able to complete the various Serie A, B and C championships, as well as having some Canavese training to keep our colors high in Tuscany. It would be nice, after these two very tormented years ». –
