SASSARI. It is forbidden to look back, because the real Dinamo championship will necessarily have to start after the break, but also because the ranking is really scary.
The five consecutive defeats – three at home – lined up against Brescia, Milan, Trieste, Tortona and Naples made Banco di Sardegna fall one step away from the red zone. Behind the Sassari, who travel with 6 points together with Cremona, Varese and Brescia, there are now only Fortitudo Bologna (which yesterday formalized the sale of Tommaso Baldasso to Olimpia Milan) and Carpegna Prosciutto Pesaro. A situation that could become even more complicated after the break in the championship, when Piero Bucchi’s biancoblù will visit vice-captain Virtus Bologna and the newly found Reyer Venezia within seven days. Between the two away games, among other things, there will also be a flight to Kiev to play the Champions League match as a last resort against Prometey.
Even the calendar does not help David Logan and his teammates, therefore, also considering that the clash between Pesaro and Varese is scheduled for the resumption of the championship and one of the two will move the standings.
The four challenges between December and January are also very delicate, which will close the first round and determine the grid of the Final Eight. But right now the Coppa Italia, which has historically seen Dinamo as a protagonist, seems a very distant idea. Or at least, the current priorities are different: for the Sassari there are in fact three direct clashes to leave behind the hot zone of the ranking: on the 19th the Banco will host Varese, on Boxing day it will visit Fortitudo, then later the home match on January 2 against the surprising Dolomiti Energia Trento, will come the away match of PalaRadi against Vanoli Cremona.
