OECD raises estimates on Italian GDP: + 4.5% in 2021 and + 4.4% in 2022 – Economy

Rome, May 31, 20221 – TheOECD revises upwards the estimates of the Italian GDP at + 4.5% in 2021 (from + 4.1% of the Interim Economic Outlook of March) and al + 4.4% in 2022 (from + 4% in March). This is what emerges from the Economic Outlook which underlines how thanks to the acceleration of the “vaccination plan it was possible to proceed with a relaxation of the restrictions”. The debt ratio to GDP will stand at 189.7% this year and then drop to 187.4% in 2022 while the deficit / GDP will be 11.4% this year and then decrease to 6.4% in 2022. The unemployment rate will be 9.8% in 2021 and 9.7% in 2022. Private consumption is on the rise after last year’s collapse (-10.7%), at 3.1% this year year and 5.2% in 2022.
