Old Wild West waiting to know its future: here is the possible play-off grid

Matteo Boniciolli, coach of Old Wild West Udine

The forecasts one day after the end of the clock phase: San Severo, Chiusi and Verona on the Apu road?

UDINE. In the play-offs as seeded number one. The Apu Old Wild West has achieved another important goal of this exciting season, and now it can better prepare for the post season starting between Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 May.

One round from the end of the regular season we tried to make some predictions regarding the pairing of the quarter-finals of the two tables, analyzing the situation in the two groups. 15 of the 16 qualified teams have already been defined, for the last place there is a “ballot” between Mantua and Trapani.

GREEN GROUP

Top four places now defined, with Udine ahead of Cantù, Pistoia and Treviglio. For fifth place Turin has an advantage over Assigeco thanks to direct clashes, Casale is seventh and can only hope for half a miracle for sixth place. For eighth place Mantua is by far the favorite over Trapani, having to play two games between now and Sunday, both within friendly walls.

RED GROUP

For Scafati it is enough to win one of the two games that remain to play to permanently detach Verona, destined for second place. Ravenna is sure of third place, for fourth place Chiusi has the advantage over Ferrara thanks to the goal difference in the head-to-head matches. For the other three places, Forlì, Cento and San Severo are qualified but the placements on the two play-off grids must be defined: Forlì is ahead for sixth place thanks to the detached classification, Cento has a good chance of finishing seventh, San Severo is the probable octave.

ADVERSARY APU

If the predictions are respected, the Apu Old Wild West will find San Severo in the quarter-finals of “Board A”. Passing the round, in the semifinal Udine could find the winner of the fourth between Chiusi and Turin, which promises to be very balanced. The other semifinal of the draw could be Verona-Pistoia, with the home factor in favor of the Venetians. Everything leads us to think, as we have already said in recent weeks, that the most probable final in “Board A” is the Udine-Verona derby in Triveneto, with an interesting starter in the last round of the clock phase.
