Tokyo, July 24, 2012 – A commendable one Luigi Samele gets a very precious one silver medal in the individual saber at Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Against a legend like the already two-time Olympic champion Aron Szilagyi for the blue there is nothing to do. The Hungarian started very strong from the very beginning, aware of the fact that thanks to the conquest of the third consecutive Olympic gold, he would have entered the history of the great Hungarian sportsmen by right, and so it was. With a peremptory 15-7 against our Samele, Szilagyi was crowned king of the saber also in Japan. For Samele, however, a great joy: the driver from Foggia gave to Italy the first medal in this one Olympic. The great comeback made in the semifinal unfortunately failed for the second consecutive time. But that’s okay.
