PIEVE of Soligo
Everything is ready for the Italian 5 km road master championships on Saturday in Pieve di Soligo. Over 350 athletes from 127 clubs from 14 regions are expected for the tricolor event. The event will also be valid as an individual regional championship for the same “over 35” categories, as a regional and provincial youth road race (under 18). Yesterday in the auditorium of the Pieve library the presentation of the event. Trevisan Paolo Zanatta and Simone Gobbo (Trevisatletica), Joachim Nshimirimana, two-time Marathon Olympian (Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008) with Burundi, naturalized Italian since 2019, announced two already blue, the Paduan Nadia Dandolo (Asi Atl. Roma ), born in 1962, twenty blue presences between the 80s and 90s, and Monia Capelli from Treviso (Atl. Brugnera Friulintagli). Among the older ones, 86 year old Mario Lorenzon (Atl. Valdobbiadene) and 82 year old Maria Cristina Fragiacomo (Atl. Aviano). The route on a 2.5 km ring is spectacular, starting in Piazza Balbi Valier, next to Palazzo Balbi Valier Sammartini and arriving in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. The first youth competition will start at 16.30, from 18.05 space for the masters. –
