Players and managers parade at Caffè Deon thinking of Sunday’s debut. President Da Rold: “A quiet championship and then aiming higher”
The journey of the DRL Volley Team Belluno is ready to begin. The official presentation of the association was launched at the Caffè Deon in Piazza dei Martiri. A moment of celebration and sharing, waiting to meet on Sunday afternoon on the pitch and in the stands for the start of the A3 championship. Appointment at 6 pm against the Pineto at the Spes Arena, hoping that the almost 500 places available can be filled in full. It should be noted that two friends of volleyball who are no longer there were remembered at the start, namely Plinio Possamai and Davide Bristot.
QUIET CHAMPIONSHIP
The one who is making all this possible, the president Sandro Da Rold, opens the evening. Who knows if he would have ever thought of facing a national top flight tournament, when a few years ago in Serie D he was involved in Volleyball Belluno by Sergio Milani and Andrea Gallina.
“No no, I never would have imagined it,” he admitted smiling. «They invited me right here to have an aperitif and Gallina asked me for a little financial help to keep the company going. Let’s say that since that day we have built something significant … ».
The summer has passed between numerous changes, following the decision to try to move up to A3 despite the mocking elimination in the playoff final.
«We had to set up a special company to manage the new category. By the way, thanks to the fundamental sponsors who support us. From a sporting point of view, we are pleased to underline the presence of both players who have come from outside and of a good group from Belluno. The target? We would like to finish in the middle of the table, avoiding the risks associated with relegation. We aim to settle down, perhaps looking at a possible step forward in the coming seasons ».
