Just four games in a month are an exceptional event for the Conegliano panthers, but postponements for Covid continue to be on the agenda and not only in Italy. Prosecco Doc Imoco will be back on the field on Sunday at 5pm against Casalmaggiore (presales already active) two weeks after the last match. The small outbreak of Covid was restricted to just two players, while the staff and the rest of the team continued their training with all the necessary precautions. The calendar for the next two months will, of course, be much denser, as there are three races to recover. The match against Bergamo, which has already been postponed twice, remains to be scheduled, while the away matches against Vallefoglia (Wednesday 23 February, 7.30 pm) and Novara (Thursday 3 March, 8 pm) are already scheduled. This means, at the moment, that the only and last week without midweek appointments for the Panthers will be the one between 6 and 13 February.
It was also this one after the assignment of the table victory over Fatum Nyiregyhaza. The Hungarian club had requested and obtained the move for a week, due to infections in their team group, but refused a further postponement of the match scheduled yesterday. The motivation was posted on their official website on Saturday. “We will not be able to play the game on the new date (26, ed), as the Italian team has requested a further postponement of the match. Our club has told the Cev that a further postponement will no longer be included in our team’s program ». Apparently nothing to do with Covid, which instead hit Conegliano. And in fact, the Magiare regularly took to the field on Monday evening for their championship, winning 3-0 against Kaposvàr, even with a couple of absences among the owners. The match was already scheduled from last October, as well as that of Saturday 29. “From now on, the main priority for us – said coach Németh Szabolcs – is the championship, we want to be first at the end of the regular season”.
The Champions League was not and cannot (now mathematically) be a goal of the Fatum, last in the group without even a set won, but not being able to find a date, with the Hungarian championship that has just eight participants, it looks more like an excuse than to a serious motivation. Those of the Gialloblù fans who had bought tickets will have until 6 February to request a refund. –
