Another victory by continuing to chase the Conference League. 90 minutes from the end of the championship, Sassuolo kept the European dream alive by beating Parma 3-1. At the Tardini, De Zerbi’s boys impose themselves thanks to the goals of Locatelli, Defrel and Boga which are worth the sixth victory in the last eight games as well as the fourth success in a row away from home. For Parma, however, this is the eighth consecutive knockout with the last point dating back to April 3 (2-2 with Benevento). At the opening of the match it is Parma that scares the guests with an excellent chance trashed by Sohm. Then a lot of Sassuolo with a double chance Boga-Defrel in which Sepe is exalted before granting the advantage on a penalty kick. On a splendid throw from Locatelli, Berardi kicks on goal, Sepe rejects and on the rebound Busi overwhelms Raspadori. For Piccinini there are no doubts, it is a penalty and Locatelli shows up from the spot (in place of Berardi after the mistake against Juventus) who with great coldness beats the opposing goalkeeper for 0-1.
The black-green network did not knock down Parma, which equalized the score in the 32nd minute. It is captain Bruno Alves who finds a real euro-goal with his right-footed volley on a free kick beaten by Hernani: an impregnable trajectory and the ball at the far post for the 1-1. In the second fraction, however, Parma leaves the initiative to Sassuolo and De Zerbi’s boys return to dominate. At 62 ‘it is 1-2 with a cross from Berardi for Defrel’s flying scissor. Seven minutes later, on the other hand, it was Boga’s turn who, on a launch from Ferrari, ran away to the yellow-blue defense and with the left-handed punched Sepe for the 1-3. In the end of the match a goal is canceled in Caputo for offside while Berardi hits the post. Little changes for the final result: three points and -2 from Rome chasing Europe. Sassuolo smiles, Parma is only waiting for the B.
