Pavia-Accademia, Sant’Alessio’s team has won only once

For three seasons, from the relegation of Pavia from Serie D, Pavia and the Accademia Pavese have been competing in the championship of Excellence.

The first challenge between the two teams in the 2019-2020 Excellence tournament was played in Trezzano sul Naviglio, where Pavia was in “forced exile” due to the Fortunati dispute with the Municipality of Pavia. It ended, on 6 October 2019, with a score of 3-1 for Pavia against the Accademia Pavese, led by Mr. Omar Albertini at the time, with goals for the Azzurri of Argentine Daniel Cotello and a brace from Giovanni Bilello and provisional goal of 1. -1 red and white with Salvatore Avino.

It was the debut of the new coach Giuliano Melosi who took the place of Daniele Di Blasio on the Pavia bench. Upon returning to Sant’Alessio, on 9 February 2020, he finished 1-1 (Di Blasio returned to the blue bench at the end of the first leg, ed) with Provasio’s opening goal for the Pavese Academy and Stanislav Bahirov’s equalizer.

It started again in the Spring with the 11-team mini-tournament. Pavia and Accademia Pavese met on 9 May at Fortunati in a match won this time by the guests. Pavia’s initial goal was from Romanini, then at the end of the first half the Academy went to the break at 2-1 thanks to goals from Bonelli and Maione and then went to 3-1 with Cobucci in the second half. Final fought after Colombo’s goal for Pavia (2-3), but the result did not change. This year on 22 September there was already the first direct confrontation that was worth the victory in the triangular of the first round of the Italian Cup. The match was decided by a penalty converted by the now former Azzurri center forward Razzitti in the middle of the second half. –
