Two and a half intense months are expected for a reduced mini-championship of Excellence due to Covid and for a restart strongly desired by many companies. The D series goal is for a few: given the blocking of relegations in Excellence. In a market where every day from the official restart of the highest regional category there are announcements of recruitment of the 33 teams that will restart on Sunday 11 April, there is no shortage of those of Pavia. Yesterday afternoon three new faces became official in the squad of President Giuseppe Nucera. At the disposal of the coach Fabio Nisticò the blue general manager Ettore Menicucci has put three players to complete an already qualitatively competitive squad: the goalkeeper Mario D’Agostino, the midfielder Alessandro Celestri and the winger Alessandro Colombo. Further additions confirm that Pavia wants to have its say until the end for the victory in group B where there are well-equipped teams such as Città di Sangiuliano, Sant’Angelo, Club Milano, but also Codogno and Alcion (all reinforced in recent weeks) .
«As I have already said, our first victory is to be back here to play and train at Fortunati – reiterates the blue dg Menicucci -. Based on our technical assessments, we have included three elements to try to make our squad more and more competitive. Celestri is a central midfielder who grew up in Turin (he has collected appearances in the Under 16 and 17 national teams) who will complete the team in the middle of the field given the unavailability of Andrea Ottonello, who due to an injury is not ready to return to training soon. . In front we have included another interesting player and Under (2001) to be more complete like Alessandro Colombo who grew up in Pro Vercelli (later experience in D at Verbania). We also tried to complete the goalkeepers department by focusing on another Under as an alternative to our 2002, Alessandro Sacchi and we joined the 2001 class Mario D’Agostino (after D and Excellence last team San Marzano in the Campania promotion) ».
