Peru, Italian missionary killed with machetes – Foreign

Rome, April 25, 2021 – Una missionary Italian secular, Nadia de munari, 50 years old, originally from Schio (Vicenza), was killed in Peru a machete strokes perhaps during a robbery attempt. Agents of murder squad from Lima they went to the Peruvian coastal town of Chimbote to participate in the investigation, according to the local newspaper, Diario de Chimbote. The brutal attack would have taken place four days ago in the ‘Mamma mia’ family home. Nadia De Munari then died yesterday at the Lima hospital for serious injuries: the doctors of the Regional Hospital spoke of severe head injury, fractured right arm and facial injuries. For the local police, who found many traces, including blood, in the woman’s room, it could have been one robbery ended badly. But there are still no certain hypotheses.

The police have questioned the five people present in the structure, including an Italian citizen. Another woman, Lisbet Ramrez Cruz, was also reportedly attacked. In the family home she shared with another ten teachers, the missionary from Vicenza assisted some girls, who, however, did not hear anything, because they were sleeping in another wing. The news of Nadia De Munari’s death arrived last night in Schio, where friends and acquaintances of the woman met in prayer to comfort the family.
