GIRO DEL FRIULI: BORGO MOLINO DOMAIN
The 19th Giro del Friuli ended in triumph for Borgo Molino Rinascita Ormelle. The fourth and last stage, running from Fiume Veneto to Porcia (Pn) definitively sanctioned the primacy in the general classification of Alessandro Pinarello. The boy directed by Cristian Pavanello and Carlo Merenti kept on his shoulders from the first to the last stage the yellow-blue leader’s jersey won in the team time trial held at the Bottecchia Velodrome in Pordenone. Pinarello passed unscathed the insidious goals of Cimolais and Tarcento, stages in which, going to the attack, day after day, he strengthened his first place in the standings, also collecting a fourth and a second stage place. In the last act, staged yesterday, Borgo Molino Rinascita Ormelle did an excellent job controlling every attack and accompanying an unbeatable Alberto Bruttomesso towards the sprint in the best possible way. The Vicenza player did not miss the opportunity and with a sprint of rare power he preceded all his opponents by winning his fifth personal achievement in this 2021. A week of lions the one that gave the black-green colors their second consecutive success in the general classification of the Giro del Friuli Venezia Giulia after the victory of Davide De Pretto, license plate 2020.
DOUBLE SILVER FOR ZALF
Two second places for the Zalf Euromobil Désirée Fior who from today will compete in the Giro d’Italia Under 23 which will end on Saturday 12 June in Castelfranco. In Pergine Valsugana (Tn), in the international Trofeo De Gasperi, Riccardo Verza snatched a good second place behind Riccardo Lucca (General Store) from Trentino; in Fiorano Modenese (Mo), on the other hand, second place in the sprint with compact ranks that decided the 23rd Fiorano-Fiorano, for Alessio Portello regulated by a whisker by the Paduan Davide Boscaro (Colpack).
A NEGRENTE THE REGIONAL STUDENTS
Mattia Negrente from Verona is the new Veneto regional champion in the student category. The boy of the Bruno Gaiga Campi Antincendi won at the finish line in Savassa di Vittorio Veneto where, in addition to the regional title, he was also awarded the 51st Val Lapisina Gold Medal. It was a very tight race that was decided on the arrival ramp that enhanced the winning progression of the young athlete from Cerro Veronese.
