A break lasting more than a month that will end on Sunday bringing with it advantages and unknowns. Will Porto or Montecchio react better? «It is difficult to make predictions after such a long break, but in the last week we were finally able to train all together», says Marchetti, well aware of the strength of the opponents. To win by avenging Giorgione eliminated by the Vicenza in the semifinals at the same time, the coach has clear ideas: you need to enter the field immediately concentrated, ready to bite your opponents without leaving them too much time to think. Another variable is still represented by Covid, which has affected some players in recent weeks. Nothing serious, since everyone has a post-recovery medical examination ready, but a big annoyance that has not allowed the green-and-whites to prepare all the players in the same way in this month and a half:
«I think it will be a variable that will continue to act also during the championship, for at least a month. Positive players stay at least twenty days, and already in D the delayed recovery has led to very mixed results », says the coach.
Marchetti certainly doesn’t bandage his head before breaking it, and frankly he doesn’t seem to have all this desire to break it either. He clearly says that his boys have a keen desire to win Dolo’s match and raise the first trophy after the Promotion Championship won on April 29, 2018: “The break helped us to recover, but as is normal it didn’t give us certainties on how we will leave. They will have some difficulties too, this is also part of football », underlines the coach. The match will also be crucial for the rest of the season: Porto restarts from third place, just two points from the top. It is an undertaking that can succeed and that the green-and-whites will try to achieve. –
