Premier, campaign against racism: social boycott

by admin

No Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. All together, all united against racism. It is the initiative that all the teams of the men’s and women’s championships, all leagues and players will adopt from 4 pm in Italy on 30 April to midnight on 3 May, when the English football social networks will shut down at the same time.

The press release

“The world of football recognizes the value and importance of social media for our sport. The possibility of speaking directly to the fans, who remain the heart of football, remains vital – reads a statement released to explain the initiative -. This boycott is a signal that English football is coming together to emphasize that companies running social media need to do more to combat online hatred, while stressing instead the importance of educating people in the battle against discrimination. Obviously this boycott will not stop online abuse, but it will show what football is ready to do to help in this ongoing battle ”.
