The first half of the MotoGP season ends in the sign of Fabio Quartararo. In August the Frenchman will restart with 34 points of advantage at the top of the World Championship, increasingly leading after his fourth victory in 2021. He became the first Frenchman to win the Dutch GP, where Yamaha has packaged a remarkable double with Maverick Vinales, in pole position but slowed at the start by a clutch problem: it will be terminated with Yamaha, goodbye at the end of the season. Joan Mir celebrates an excellent podium, starting tenth on Suzuki, while Francesco Bagnaia is only sixth, protagonist on his Ducati for half the race in a spectacular head-to-head with Quartararo, up to the penalty received for having breached too many times from the track, almost simultaneously on with the accident of his teammate, Jack Miller. Even more disappointing was Valentino Rossi’s race, off the track after 8 laps, while Marq Marquez was seventh. –
