Rally di Sardegna: the countdown for the return to Olbia has started

The 2021 edition of the Sardinian world championship will take place from 3 to 6 June

OLBIA. The countdown has already begun, in fact there are less than two months to go until Rally Italia Sardegna 2021, scheduled from 3 to 6 June and valid as the fifth round of the world rally. The event, now in its eighteenth edition and organized by the Automobile Club of Italy in partnership with the Region, includes 20 special stages divided into three stages for a total of 303.10 km timed. With the publication of the specific competition regulations, registrations for the race have been opened and the closing date is scheduled for May 4th.

The 2021 edition of the Rally d’Italia will have a route consisting of 20 special stages divided into three stages for a total of 303.10 timed km. The most important novelty will be the return of the world championship in Gallura, only the ceremonial departure will in fact take place in Alghero, which had hosted the event in the last seven years.

In Olbia the service park will be at Molo Brin. The program of the race, which is full of many new features, includes a new shakedown in Loiri south of Olbia on Thursday 3 in the morning, 2.89 km long, then the ceremonial start will take place in the evening in Alghero.

The first stage of Friday 4 June includes 127.40 km timed and consists of four tests repeated twice and will take place in Monte Acuto (Filigosu of 22.29 km and Terranova of 14.36 km) and in Alta Gallura (Tempio di 12.98 km and Tula of 14.97 km). On Saturday there will be another 129.62 km timed, with 4 special stages repeated twice again set in Monte Acuto (Coiluna of 15 km and Monte Lerno of 22.08 km) and then in Anglona (Castelsardo of 13.03 km) and Gallura (a new time trial in Bortigiadas of 14.70 km). Finally, Sunday 6 June the final stage of 46.08 km timed in which there will be two new special stages repeated twice on the north coast of Gallura. Braniatogghiu of 15.25 km, which returns after ten years and the new 7.79 km long power stage of Aglientu-Santa Teresa will host the scenario on which the race will end.
