PARIS. Fabio Fognini arrives in the third round of Roland Garros, the second Slam of 2021 underway on the Parisian clay court. The 34-year-old from Arma di Taggia, number 29 in the ranking and 27 in the seeding, overtook the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics, number 44 ATP, in his fourth participation with last year’s round of 16 as best result, in three sets with a score of 7- 6 (6) 6-1 6-2 in two hours and 20 minutes. The blue participates in Roland Garros for the 14th time and boasts the quarterfinals of 2011 as his best result, when he could not even take the field against Djokovic because he was injured. He then reached the round of 16 in 2018 and 2019, the year he entered the top ten. Fognini will face the Argentine Delbonis, number 51 in the ranking who needed the fifth set today to beat the Spanish Pablo Andujar-Alba.
