In the Roubaix velodrome the Azzurri – with bikes and golden helmet to celebrate the Olympic gold in Tokyo – after setting the best time in the afternoon in qualifying (3’49 “088), tonight they won the semifinal against Great Britain with a test never questioned.
Already about a second ahead after just one kilometer, the advantage gradually increased, up to over four seconds at 3500 meters. In the final with Ganna’s trains, Italy closed with the best time: 3’46 ”760.
In the semifinals with the Verbanese there were Liam Bertazzo (who took over from Francesco Lamon, the only variation from the golden train of the Olympics and qualifications), Jonathan Milan and Simone Consonni.
In front of tomorrow evening around 19.20 Ganna and his companions will therefore find France, which last night significantly improved the qualifying time, closing the semifinal in 3’47 ”816.
