Since last Wednesday, Rucker has been at work in the gym under the guidance of coach Marco Mian who will train a rather renewed line-up compared to last season in Serie B, but always competitive and with prominent elements. It was a busy summer for the Rucker management who brought top-class players to San Vendemiano to keep the team’s level high.
Coach Mian, what are your first impressions of the team?
«The new players are settling in well. We are creating the group and the goal is to get to know each other. At the moment we are putting fuel into the engine and everyone is committed to giving their best ».
Compared to last year, the two playmakers (Tassinari and Durante) are missing, who had done very well. How do you see the inclusion of the new plays?
«The play is an important and delicate role. The player in that role takes the place of the coach on the pitch and it is essential that there is harmony between the coach and whoever directs the orchestra on the pitch. By leaving both of us, we will be rebuilding that role. We are very satisfied with who has arrived: Sanguinetti did not find out and we know that for the category he is an excellent player; Since he has more playmaker characteristics than Durante, perhaps less attacking, however he is a guy with character who is doing very well and therefore I am convinced that both will bring their important contribution ».
Will Sanguinetti be Sanve’s go-to-guy?
“We are starting to build a relationship and I explicitly asked him that he must be the man of reference. I think he knows how to take on certain responsibilities and that this does not scare him, he is also a very intelligent boy who knows when to trigger his teammates and when to take a shot ».
What is the goal for next season?
«Certainly to be in a position to fight for promotion. The will is to improve last year’s season ». –
