«Honestly, it is not known what movements of players there have been. There have been few friendlies, however the important thing is to recognize that this is the first match in a year and a half. We must try in every way to win it and we must not settle down, thinking that in recent years we have always had the better of them. It will be necessary to keep the tension very high, also because they are one-way matches and we are in an iron circle with Bassano and Montebelluna; I consider the latter very equipped. It is necessary to understand the value of the other teams, also because I think those that aim to jump in category are rare. In this championship the priorities are very different ».
Will you miss the derbies?
«The derby is always very pleasant. For example, on Saturday we played with the under 15 against Belluno-Alpago and there were a lot of people. Then on the occasion we set up the “Francesco Bottignole” award to remember a boy who once died in an accident. We have decided to carry on the award in every season ».
Do you have any particular goals?
“First of all as a club it is already a great satisfaction to be able to have an under 15, 17 and 19. This year the first team will train jointly with the under 19 and this will be very useful: on the one hand the older ones finally see the results of what they have been waiting for for years, plus there is the possibility of doing high-level workouts. So we have structured the sessions in such a way that the first team and the under 19 are always together, with the possibility of making the debut of 18-year-olds in the first team. This is the main purpose of this season ».
In conclusion, are you happy that it is restarting?
“Absolutely yes. This is the spirit of the whole movement. In the end, the important thing is to play. Last Saturday we took the field with the various youth categories and it seemed that in a moment a year and a half break had been canceled and we were back to having those feelings of the past ».
