SALERNO – Fabrizio Castori is positive for Coronavirus, the coach of the grenade club announced it with a letter published on the Salernitana website. Here is what the coach from San Severino Marche wrote in the letter.
Dear fans, dear Salerno,
I found on my way an opponent I was not prepared for: Covid-19. Unfortunately I am the member of the team group who tested positive for the virus last Wednesday. First of all, I want to reassure everyone: I’m pretty well and it takes a lot more to break down.
These days I am feeling the great affection of the Property, of the managers, of my collaborators and of all the players. Covid forces you into isolation, but I don’t feel alone. And I don’t feel alone because I have my family and Salernitana. And I have all of you, who are showing your solidarity to me with great discretion.
Thanks also to all the journalists, who respected the initial choice, mine and that of the company, not to disclose my name, and who in various ways encourage me and inform themselves about my state of health. Thank you all, really. Salerno is capable of extraordinary love and Salernitana is the worthy expression of this city.
Unfortunately, Covid will keep me off the field for a while. I’m afraid I won’t be able to be on the bench for the match against Monza and perhaps also for the following ones. This saddens me and makes me very angry. You can’t imagine what I would give to be able to be with my boys at this decisive moment of the season. My collaborators, starting with Riccardo Bocchini, will be able to better manage training and competitions, but the problem is that I miss Salernitana. I miss that bench, I miss the Arechi grass, I miss my boys.
I will be with them and I urge them to bring to completion this extraordinary season of which they are the architects. I will not be on the bench, but with my heart I will always be with them. And I hope that this championship can continue in the name of merit and sportsmanship, values in which Salernitana has always believed and which are the guidelines of the grenade club. I will have to beat Covid, the team, our team, will try to overtake the opponents they will face in these last four games. I hope that the virus has realized that it cannot measure itself with this group and that it is only angry with me.
