On September 15, the National Games, the highest-level comprehensive sports event held every four years in China, will officially open at the Xi’an Olympic Sports Center Stadium. At present, Shaanxi Province has made preparations for venue construction, epidemic prevention, security, publicity, reception, and competition area work for the 14th National Games.
World-class venues waiting for National Games athletes
Entering the swimming and diving hall of the Xi’an Olympic Sports Center, blue water waves are rippling under the huge 14th National Games emblem. The stadium has a total construction area of 100,000 square meters and a height of about 30 meters. It is divided into a competition hall, a training hall, and a land training hall for swimming and diving. The competition hall has more than 4,000 seats.
The venue is not only “show outside”, but also “huizhong”. The roof design uses solar photovoltaic power generation technology, and the water treatment system and refrigerator also use many safe, green, and energy-saving technologies. In addition, air source heat pumps are installed in the venues. When the water temperature in the venues needs to be raised, the heat pumps can directly collect heat energy from the atmosphere.
The Xi’an Olympic Sports Center Stadium, which hosted the opening ceremony and track and field competitions, recently obtained the World Athletics Federation Level 1 venue certification, reaching the highest standards of World Athletics Federation venue construction. This indicates that this place will be qualified to host the Olympic track and field competitions, the world track and field championships, and the World Athletics Golden League.

Jiang Min, deputy director of the Food and Drug Safety Guarantee Department of the Organizing Committee of the 14th National Games, introduced that pigs, cattle, sheep, poultry, eggs, milk, aquatic products, spices and their products that must be tested for food-borne stimulants during the competition There are five categories of food materials exclusively for athletes. The organizing committee will set up a total food warehouse for athletes to ensure food safety and zero incidents of food-borne stimulants.
National Games of the People
Four years ago, the 13th National Games of the People’s Republic of China implemented the people-centered development concept and insisted on taking people as the main body of sports development. 19 new mass events were added.
