The play-off semifinals for promotion to A2 are a historic milestone for Rucker, but we know that the appetite comes with eating and it is therefore reasonable to expect that the series will be as fought as, if not more, than the fourth against Ruvo. One of the players who has raised the level most in these play-offs is Jacopo Vedovato, the long-time former TvB has signed the basket from +5 to a few seconds from the end.
Vedovato, what does that last basket mean?
“We hadn’t cheered up there yet because the game wasn’t over yet. It was an important basket because Ruvo was able to recover several times during the match. We had to stay focused and happiness came shortly after when the siren sounded ».
It was a Rucker who won these games by suffering and managing the pressure.
«They are bad games, play-off games where everyone wants to win and nobody wants to go home. On the pitch you give everything, you try every solution to make a basket without many frills and you fight for every ball. We set ourselves in the perspective that to win games you have to play in this way, with this attitude, looking for the basket and sacrificing yourself on rebound. We did it well in all four games, even in the second that we lost. In game 2 we made a few gifts too many and with fewer turnovers we could have taken them home ».
In the semifinal Fabriano returns, who won in 4 games against Sant’Antimo. Will it be a different game than the regular season one?
«We know that we will have to get our hands dirty and we will have to fight for every ball. In the championship match we presented ourselves to Fabriano unprepared and we took 30 points, we will go there with a different spirit even though we are aware of how strong they are, but we will go there to achieve a result ».
In the regular season match your equal role Cassar made a great match, do you have the opportunity to redeem yourself?
«Defensively I will have to give a lot more, but I know the value of the opponents. We are all aware of what awaits us ». –
