Savona, the padel depopulated: created a field at the Sms La Rocca

by admin

A new padel court at Sms La Rocca, in Legino. Padel is a sport that is gaining more and more success among the Savonese who have a space recently inaugurated at the Aps della Rocca; the field is located outside, near the bowling green which has been redeveloped as an aggregation space. To raise awareness of this sport, very similar to tennis but with many different rules, Sms has organized an open day for children aged 5 to 12 for tomorrow and Sunday, in collaboration with Sportart and by reservation.

Padel is played in four and before hitting the ball you have to wait for it to bounce once on the floor. The rackets are slightly different from those for tennis, with the much shorter handle. The flying ball cannot touch the metal part that surrounds the court, nor the walls of the opponent’s court and, unlike tennis, it is allowed to use the walls of the playing field. The ball can be hit on the fly before it bounces off the floor, but it cannot be hit in response to the serve. Other padel courts are planned in the coming months at the Acquario baths in via Nizza. The intention of the company that manages the bathrooms is to create three courts instead of the red clay one dedicated to tennis and the reorganization of the area destined for beach volleyball with the inclusion of two fields for beach tennis.
