IVREA
Tomorrow, Saturday 22 January, at 2 pm the 63rd Serie A championship of bowls begins for the flight specialty. Brb Ivrea will play the first match of the tournament at home at the Salassa bowling green, hosting the Nus from Valle d’Aosta, who are newly promoted.
The Canavesani are the reigning champions having won the title on 11 July in Loano, beating Gaglianico 14-13 in the final. Brb Ivrea is looking for its ninth Italian title. In the roll of honor the company of padron Aldino Bellazzini also has seven European cups and six Italian cups.
The Canavesani are once again among the favorites to conquer the tricolor. We remind you that the title will be awarded at the end of the final four which will take place on 28 and 29 May. The top four ranked teams at the end of the regular season will advance to the finals. Ivrea, after 12 years, will no longer have in its squad the Ligurian champion Carlo Ballabene, who has decided to return to play close to home: he will go to Chiavarese in A2. In his place came an excellent player with already good experience also at an international level: Enrico Barbero was hired by Gaglianico di Biella. Here are the other Brb players: Fabrizio Deregibus, Daniele Grosso, Emanuele Ferrero, Luigi Grattapaglia, Simone Nari, Alberto Cagnaro and the two Slovenians Anze Petric and Ales Bornick. The Nus is presented with two Canavesani in the team: Alberto Balmamion and Claudio Gassino, as well as Mattia Falconieri former of the Lower Helvetia Valley. The other matches: Noventa-Gaglianico; Maxim Udine-Auxilium Saluzzo, La Perosina-Maranese.
The A2 series also starts tomorrow Saturday. In the group to the west the Lower Helvetia Valley will play at home against the Ligurians of the Carcare bowl. In the group are also played: Centallese-Chiavarese Caudera and Veloce club Pinerolo-Beinettese. The women’s Serie A championship also starts again. The Lower Helvetia valley plays on Sunday 23 away to Borgone di Susa. –
