Serie A in Dazn, what changes for subscribers

by admin

The Serie A League has just awarded the TV rights for the next three years to Dazn. 16 voted in favor of Dazn’s offer

club, against four. Dazn has been awarded packages 1 and 3 for an amount equal to approximately 840 million euros per season: it will therefore broadcast 7 exclusive races per day (package 1) and 3 co-exclusive races (package 3). The only four votes against the streaming platform’s offer came from Genoa, Crotone, Sampdoria and Sassuolo. For package 2, containing the co-exclusive of the 3 races, the talks between the Lega and Sky (which offered 70 million per season) will continue until Monday 29 March, when the offer will expire based on the provisions of the announcement. .

For those who have subscriptions to both Sky and Dazn in absolute terms, it should change little: it is likely that Dazn will increase the price of its subscription, but it is also foreseeable that Sky will revise its prices since the core business was the A series. it is no longer exclusive.

DAZN now is not just streaming via PC and smartphone because, as we know, it has a dedicated channel on the Sky bouquet and it is possible to watch the games on TV even with the official app for enabled Smart TVs.

The co-exclusivity of the 3 games should go to Sky (but it is not yet entirely certain). Limited by the exclusive for DAZN, Sky’s football offer is halved and goes from 7 to 3 games in web co-exclusive.

Sky remains the Champions League (with one match per day sold to Amazon Prime Video) and the Europa League.
