Suspension of the Serie C regional championships until Saturday 10 April, with the window from Sunday 28 March to Friday 9 April dedicated to the recovery of matches postponed for Covid-19. Until Friday 5 April all provincial youth activities, managed by the Territorial Committee of Turin, stop. These are the main decisions of the volleyball leaders.

The C championship will restart regularly on Saturday 10 April with the ninth day scheduled, then a week later the last of the championship of the first phase, while the first and second return day, which should have been played this and next Saturday, 20 and 27 March, will be played on Saturday 24 April and Saturday 1 May.

On the other hand, there is nothing unchanged as regards the men’s B and women’s B2 series, which will continue according to regular schedule with the fourth return day.

The decisions were made by the Piedmont regional council of Fipav last Monday evening, March 15th and in the national federal meeting held in Rome yesterday, Tuesday March 16th.

Satisfaction with the decision taken by the Piedmontese Fipav, led a few days by Marco Marangon, is expressed by the president of Montalto Dora (women’s C series included in the mini group B1) Ezio Carazzato: “Morally right choice – he says – to stop the championships: we will resume on Saturday 10 April with the match against Safa Torino, then with Sangone, while we will extend the first phase by two weeks playing on Saturday 24 April with Capello Chieri and ending on Saturday 1 May with the derby against Finimpianti Rivarolo. For a week then – continues Carazzato – stop to all training, not only as regards the entire sector of the youth sector, but also of the Serie C ». Even Letizia Paonessa, president of Canavese Ivrea volley (women’s Serie C included in the A2 mini group) is happy with the decision: «We will continue training at Antonicelli, we will decide with Mr. Vallero whether to carry out only two training sessions and not three a week. We have a match to recover, the one against Autofrancia Torino, valid for the fourth day, but at the moment we still don’t know anything. We will resume on Saturday 10 April again with the Turin teams of Autofrancia and then with Cus Collegno, while on Saturday 24 April we will play with Pavic and on 1 May with Teamvolley Lessona ». Even at Finimpianti Rivarolo (in the same group as Montalto Dora) they were satisfied with the choice made, as the president Davide Agostino comments: “To suspend the activity was the most logical choice that the Federation could take, also because more protect health in these cases. Fortunately we have no matches to recover and we can use that window from Sunday 28 March to Friday 9 April to continue training. Now we will discuss with the various coaches and plan the workouts. We want to resume in total safety from all points of view, they have only postponed the end of the first phase by two weeks (the calendar should have ended on Saturday 17 April), soon we hope to know even if there will be variations for the start of the second phase , which should have started in mid-May and the final playoff and playout formula, after having drawn up the final classification by adding the points scored in the first and second phase of the teams of the mini groups B1 and B2 ». –
