Debut at home with Giugliano for Torres. The championship starts on September 19, with seven Sardinian teams included in group G.
SASSARI. Yesterday morning, the National Amateur League drew up the calendars of the nine rounds of the Serie D championship which will start on Sunday 19 September. As for group G, the one where the Sardinian teams are inserted, debut day with three derbies: Arzachena-Lanusei; Carbonia-Latte Dolce and Muravera-Atletico Uri, while Torres debuts at home against Giugliano in the challenge between two of the candidates for promotion (the Campania team bought the Savoy title to stay in Serie D and aim for the leap in category).
On the second day, there will be two derbies between Sardinian teams: Torres plays in Lanusei, where last year the Sassari coach did well driving the Ogliastra team, while Latte Dolce returns to play at Vanni Sanna (after a year between Sennori and Usini) receiving the visit of the Muravera.
There will be 34 intense days in a group where apart from Sassari, there are no big city teams. The favorites are to be found among the Torres of president Stefano Udassi, the Cynthialbalonga, a team that has entrusted to a young coach like Scudieri (two second places in the last two seasons with Ostiamare and Latina) a competitive team in all departments, the Afragolese who, having passed the scare after the salvation on the last day last year, this year aims to jump in the category with a completely renewed team and Giugliano. There will be surprises: from Vis Artena who came second last year, to Ostiamare (entrusted to Mr. Gardini in search of revenge after last year’s experience at Torres), without forgetting Muravera and Arzachena in the island home who aim to play a high level championship.
The regulation provides that the first classified climbs directly to Serie C, while from the second to the fifth they will play the playoffs to draw up a ranking for any repechage. The last two in the standings will be relegated directly to Excellence, while the other two will know each other at the end of the playouts that will be played (in a single challenge at the home of the best-ranked team) between the thirteenth and sixteenth in the standings and between the fourteenth and fifteenth in ranking at the end of the regular season.
Each team will be forced to field for the duration of the matches, a player born in 2000, one in 2001, one in 2002 and one in 2003. The regular season will close on Sunday 15 May 2022. Three stops are foreseen: on 26 December , on January 2 and March 13. Three midweek rounds that will be played in the Sardinian-Campania-Lazio group; December 8th, December 22nd and April 13th (Wednesday before Easter). The starting time of the races is scheduled for the first days, at 3 pm, from October 31st it is anticipated at 2.30 pm, to return at 3 pm from March 27th.
