RIVANAZZANO TERME
Preparations are underway at Rivanazzano Terme airport, the beating heart and logistical base of world enduro in these days. The climate is hot, you can feel the adrenaline typical of the planetary event, which attracts fans from every corner of the world. The organizers of the Six Days are working hard to define the last details in view of the competition that will start on Monday 30 August and the mechanics of the various teams are dedicated to finalizing the technical measures on the bikes, in constant contact with the riders. In the long stretch of asphalt that houses the paddock, you can see the motorhomes of the national teams, starting with the blue selection; in front of Italy, there is the USA team, reigning champion of the last Six Days, held in Portimao, Portugal.
The peculiarity of the Six Days, defined as the Enduro Olympics, is linked to the fact that the event is open to both national teams and clubs, and at the start there will be world-famous champions and simple enthusiasts who will be able to enjoy the emotion off-road. After turning towards Rivanazzano Terme airport, the world resonance of the Six Days is immediately perceived, a competition that brings Oltrepo Pavese and Val Curone to the center of the world stage of enduro.
The signs celebrating the event and the barriers branded with the sponsors’ brands introduce the most famous off-road motoring event into the logistics center; between the insiders and the personnel authorized to enter the paddock, there are many conversations in English, the international language par excellence. The paddock, animated by the passage of some motorcycles and team vans, has yet to fill up. Some drivers are in fact reaching Rivanazzano in these hours, while others are already present and savoring the sensations, a mix of tension and adrenaline, typical of important vigils. In the logistics area of the airport, the closed park was then created, a fenced area in which only the members of the competition jury, the employees of the various teams and pilots can access; once placed inside the closed park, the motorcycle cannot be subjected to any type of intervention or modification.
The organizers consult to define the latest bureaucratic issues, then today all the technical verification procedures on the vehicles that will be at the start of the Six Days will be completed. Rivanazzano Terme, with its airport, will host departures and arrivals on race days, with the exception of the final day in the Cassano Spinola circuit. A few more days of waiting, then the word will pass to the roar of the two-wheeled engines, and our territory will be able to experience a world-class event as a protagonist.
