Three players from the first team group and three others from the under 20 (who are included in the list of 16 players who can be used in the league) tested positive: they are all asymptomatic. We remind you that in the Serie C silver championship a protocol has been defined: the team has the right to postpone the match if at least eight players from the group of 16 are positive. In this case, however, there are only six.
«Given the situation of the positives in the team group – explains Alessandro Castagna, president of Usac Rivarolo – we have decided to safeguard the health of everyone, both our players and our opponents, but also the referees and the field officials. Now we will do a further round of tampons before resuming training. We are aware of the protocol, that to obtain the postponement of the match you must have eight positives from the list filed with the Federation. We know we can lose the game at the table ». Usac’s decision was immediately communicated to both the Piedmontese federation and the Novara club and Saturday’s match was canceled. The sports judge will have to decide on the failure to carry out the match, but it is likely that, following the protocol that has been signed by the clubs, he will assign the victory to Arona 20-0.
The shooting times of the players will be long. At the end of the quarantine, they will again have to have sporting fitness, which has high technical times (at least another 15 days). It is likely that a month and a half will pass before seeing them again in the league.
Coach Titto Porcelli is embittered: «This situation will affect us a lot. My hope is to be able to resume training as early as Tuesday. With the club we decided to expand the number of players on the first team list, including other players from the under 20s. The hope is to be able to better prepare for the match on Sunday 21st in Turin when we go to face Reba basketball. “.
